The Seychelles had always been on our list: that dream destination with postcard-perfect beaches and quiet coves that feel untouched by time. This spring, we finally made it happen.
As our plane descended toward Mahé Island, the view looked like something out of a painting: coral reefs glowing beneath the water, green hills rising sharply from the sea, and a soft mist hovering over the coastline.
Getting through the small international airport was easy and relaxed, a refreshing change from busier hubs. Within half an hour, we were in our rental car, windows down, driving along winding coastal roads lined with palm trees and vibrant flowers.

A Fishing Day to Remember

One afternoon, we joined a local fisherman for a half-day trip just off the coast. It wasn’t a luxury tour. Just a small boat, simple gear, and the promise of adventure.
Our son caught some little fish, while I caught a good size red snapper.
Later that evening, our host helped us cook our catch on a small charcoal grill. It’s those small, spontaneous moments that make travel unforgettable.
