A Family Journey Across Five Countries

Some trips are planned around dates and flights. This one was planned around experiences. As a family, we designed it ourselves, step by step, bringing together five destinations that couldn’t be more different: Oman, Nepal, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and India. What followed was a journey filled with contrast, color, and moments we’ll always share.

We began in Oman, where wide deserts and rugged mountains set the stage for adventure. Hiking through Jebel Shams gave us breathtaking views and quiet family moments, while exploring Muscat and Nizwa introduced us to history, culture, and everyday life. A refreshing swim in Wadi Al Shab, surrounded by turquoise water and canyon walls, was a favorite for everyone.

Next, we traveled to Nepal, where mountains and spirituality go hand in hand. In Kathmandu, we wandered through vibrant streets and ancient temples, taking in the colors, scents, and stories around us. Just outside the city, the mountains near Nagarkot offered calm mornings and wide views — a beautiful contrast to the city below.

In Bangladesh, the journey became deeply personal. Visiting friends in Dhaka meant sharing meals, laughter, and daily life. Seeing the city through local eyes made this part of the trip especially meaningful and reminded us how strongly travel is connected to people.

After that, we slowed the pace in the Maldives. White beaches lined with palm trees, clear blue water, and days filled with snorkeling, treasure hunting, and more virgin frozen strawberry daiquiris than we care to admit gave us time to relax and enjoy being together.

We ended our journey in India, where the energy and colors welcomed us once again. After weeks of travel, we took time to unwind at a hotel near Delhi, reflecting on everything we had experienced before heading home.

This family journey brought together deserts, jungles, high mountains, tropical islands, lively cities, diverse cultures, and incredible food. Designing the trip ourselves allowed us to balance adventure and rest, discovery and connection, creating memories from five countries that somehow came together as one unforgettable journey.
